" The soul of our city is not found in the deep pockets of special interests, but in the
hardworking families
that live here. Elect me, and let's shake up politics as usual."
- Amanda
I'm a mom of three kids who attend DPS schools, so I understand the challenges that cause Denver families to leave for the suburbs, especially the traffic and safety issues. I will work to find a dedicated source of funding for transportation and mobility infrastructure in Denver to provide clean, safe, reliable transit options for our City. I will work to provide ways for the residents who want to bike or ride transit to do it safely, which will benefit our environment and quality of life.
Denver is going to continue to grow, because we need the housing and the economic strength it provides. But we need to be thoughtful about the choices we're making and the consequences those decisions have on our neighborhoods. We need to build units that middle-income earners can afford to buy, and take parking and traffic into consideration in the planning stages. I'll work to shed light on these issues and advocate for housing in our community that actually fits our needs.
The voices of the people who live in our neighborhoods are being drowned out by big city politics. I am running to represent your voice on City Council. I have a successful track record of advocating for our neighborhoods on issues of development, illegal short term rentals, traffic calming measures, and safety solutions like more crosswalks. I'll continue to find collaborative solutions to solve the big problems we face, and focus on getting things done.
